Welcome and Author Biography

Welcome to my blog! Let me tell you a little about myself.

I was born in Sacramento, California in 1970, and have lived here my entire life. I received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from CSU, Sacramento in 1994, and took a job with the State of CA in 2000.

In 2005, I married my wife, Stefanie, and we welcomed our daughter Sofie into the world in 2008, followed by our second daughter, Isabel in 2010.

The fantasy genre always fascinated me, starting from the first time I read the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. This quickly led to my discovery of Dungeons in Dragons in 1979. I played D&D into my mid-twenties. It left an indelible impact on me and lit the fire of writing creativity that would stay with me.

In 2020, Black Bed Sheets selected my short story, “The Purple Heart” for publication in the fanthology, Nevada Necromance. You can order a copy on one of the links at the top of the home page. When not working as a Contract Manager for the State of California, I enjoy watching Isabel take her horseback riding lessons, and Sofie prepare for her track and field competitions. I’m still an avid video game player and enjoy traveling and working out. My passion is to continue writing. I find solitude and time to plot my stories on the daily walks I take with my two German shepherds, Auggie and Luna.

I started this blog to promote my first attempt at writing a novel. Technically, I started writing Relentless Blades in early September 2022. However, the seeds for writing this book go back almost forty years!

I hope to give you some insight into the long history I have with this project, as well as share some cool inside details, along with personal experiences. If it goes as I hope, we'll have some laughs, we may shed some tears, we'll have some humor and we'll tackle some serious topics.

I hope you'll follow along with me on my journey towards publication. I plan to update this regularly, so please check back.  Enjoy!

Outline Breakthrough!

As detailed in my last post, I've really been struggling with the sequel for Relentless Blades. I'm very much a "plotter"...
